Jian Men's Bean Curd Festival

During every May 1st - 4th,Jian Ge County will held 'China Jian Men pass Tou Fu culture and tour festival', to let the tourists taste the famous Jian Men's Tou Fu when appreciate the scenery of Jian Men Pass.

'Jian Men's Bean Curd', means the special Bean Curd made in Jian Men Shu Dao scenery area. People said that it was start from '3 kindoms', Jiang Wei has defeated by Zhong Hui and Deng Ai from Wei country, then back to Jian Men pass. At that time Jiang Wei's army were very tired,both soldiers and horses couldn't work. It seemed in very dangerous situation. An official came to Jiang Wei and presented an idea:closed the pass for 3 days and asked all families make Bean Curd to provide soldiers as food, then let tofukasu feed the horses until they re-cover to fight again. This stratage was workable,making the soldiers and horses recover quickly. 3 days later, Jiang Wei led 5000 soldiers fight out of the pass to defeat Zhong Hui.As a result,they made a final victory,and released the danger of Jian Men.

The Wood Oxes and Horse Show will be held during the festival,in addition, people will make the Bean Curd with the indigenous method and cooking match will be held also.

The 1st Tou Fu festival in Sept. 28 on 2003, had hold a ceremony to open a box in which there was the 'King of Toufu' with 2.2 meters length, 1.2 meters width,and 0.9 meters height, about 3.300 ton weight. It was really the biggest and heaviest Tou Fu till now.
